Rosa Mani

Rosa Mani is a social worker who has lived in Ciudad Juárez for four years. She expresses that it is the city she loves. Rosa is originally from Mexico City, and she received a call to the border to work.

"I received a call in my heart, and it was impossible to reject it. I am also a migrant and I came to the city starting as a volunteer, participating in events such as border meetings, Hugs not Walls, deliveries of supplies and donations, recreational events, collection of clothes and toys among other activities for shelters on the border."

Later, she was invited to coordinate the Filter Hotel for migrants in COVID times, where she works as a Director for 19 months, serving nearly 3,000 migrants in the midst of the pandemic, and managing to provide comprehensive care within the hotel, working with various local and national organizations, binational and international, to provide timely attention to the population and emphasizing the most vulnerable cases, identifying cases, psychosocial and medical support, and recreational activities.

In the Filter Hotel, together with ABARA, the HUELLAS program promotes job training for the mobility population as well as occupational therapies and motivation and entrepreneurship courses for the migrant population. Today, three shelters have the HUELLAS program and in 2022 it is planned that with ABARA these projects will be extended to more shelters.She is grateful for the opportunity to work with ABARA, and collaborate with other organizations to leave traces of love in the lives of the people who come to the city.

Rosa Mani es una trabajadora social que desde hace cuatro años vive en Ciudad Juárez, ella expresa que es la ciudad a la que ama,   Rosa es originaria de Ciudad de México,  ella recibe un llamado a la frontera a trabajar. 

 

Recibí un llamado en mi corazón, y era imposible  rechazarlo, tambien soy migrante y  llegue a la ciudad  iniciando como voluntaria, participando en  eventos como los encuentros fronterizos, abrazos, no muros, entregas de insumos y donativos, eventos recreativos, recolección de ropa y juguetes entre otras actividades para  albergues en la frontera.

 

Posteriormente es invitada a coordinar el hotel  filtro para migrantes en tiempos covid,  donde se desempeña como directora durante 19 meses atendiendo cerca de 3000 migrantes en medio de la pandemia, y logrando dar una atención integral dentro del hotel, trabajando con varias organizaciones locales, nacionales, binacionales e internacionales, para dar atención oportuna a la población y haciendo énfasis en casos más vulnerables,  realizando identificación de casos, apoyo psicosocial, médico, actividades recreativas y lúdicas.

 

En el hotel filtro impulsa junto con ABARA  el programa de HUELLAS una capacitación para el trabajo para la población en movilidad así como también terapias ocupacionales y cursos de motivación y emprendimiento para la población migrante

 

Hoy en día 3 albergues cuentan con el programa de HUELLAS  y en el 2022 se planea que con ABARA  se extiendan  estos proyectos  a más albergues.

 

Ella está agradecida por la oportunidad de trabajar con ABARA, y colaborar en conjunto con otras organizaciones para dejar huellas de amor en las vidas de las personas  que llegan a la ciudad.
